César Paz-y-Miño, is a researcher with 30 years of experience, leads a working group with the lines of genetics and predisposition to cancer, rare genetic diseases, studies of the population origin of Ecuador, genotoxicology. Currently he is Director of the Genetics and Genomics Research Institute, Health Faculty, University Technological Equinoctial (UTE), Quito-Ecuador.

For his scientific contributions, he has received several research awards, among which the Congress of the Republic, the Best National Consecrated Researcher Award, the Eugenio Espejo Award for Scientific Merit by the Metropolitan Municipality of Quito. Member of the Ecuadorian Academies of Science and Medicine.

Researcher Paz-y-Miño, actively participates in television and radio programs on issues of science, technology and health rights​.
